About MeCharles Easley is an Amazon Best selling author, of his book series ,"Misadventures of an Urban Nerd." Recently Directed the documentary Rude Gay Ryder's that premiered on The On Channel. Charles helps others to share their story so that they can inspire others. He is been a columnist for Q City Metro ,Creative Loafing and has been a historical contributor for The Huffington Post. Charles Easley was reared in Houston, Texas. He received his BA degree in Mass Communication from Huston-Tillotson College, in Austin, TX in May 1991. He went on to complete his graduate studies, on a full Fellowship (The Patricia Roberts Harris Fellowship) at the University of Iowa, where he received a MA in Communication Studies: Emphasis in Film and Video Production, in August, 1994. He has produced media products and documentaries through the Cable in the Classroom Series for clients including the Sci-Fi channel and BET. A recent venture for Charles is as host of three of the wildly entertaining #704PPC podcast with Dr. Dee Honeycutt and radio legend Chirl Girl. He has appeared on media outlets including NPR, an appearance on "The BJ Murphy Show" and several guest host spots on "The Satisfied Life" with Ramona Holloway. He is a committed educator, artist and mentor. Charles is a seasoned educator. His tenure includes Assistant Professor of Mass Communications at Clark-Atlanta University, Assistant Professor at Barber-Scotia College, Adjunct Professor an at Queens University, Instructor and then Program Director for the Digital Film and Video program at the Art Institute of Charlotte. Charles has enjoyed a very successful career of blending academic and professional environments. He brings the critical analysis of academia to a production environment while taking the sensibility of practical application into the classroom. |
